The Festival d'Avignon
In its 66th year, the Festival d’Avignon is to theatre what Cannes is to cinema. This famous event, which runs from 7 to 28 July, consists of two parts: the official IN festival and the independent OFF festival, bringing the city alive with thousands of events and a sea of colourful posters.
"Tout l'monde dehors!" festival
In summer, Lyon shows its festival spirit with "Tout l'monde dehors !". Concerts, plays, storytelling, games, balls and circus spectacles are dotted about the city. More than 300 free open air events bring a good natured, friendly atmosphere to the city.
